In het ‘IoT Scorecard 2018: Evaluating Operators’ LPWA Strategies’ onderzoek van Analysys Mason* zijn dit jaar 12 wereldwijde leveranciers van Low-Power Wide-Area (LPWA) diensten geëvalueerd op basis van strategie en executiekracht. Hierbij wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen ‘Followers’, ‘Contenders’, ‘Challengers’ en ‘Pioneers’. KPN behaalde hoge scores voor elk van de beoordelingscriteria (strategy & vision, networks, ecosystems, connectivity & go-to-market, value chain and vertical markets) en wordt door Analysys Mason erkend als pionier op het gebied van Low-Power Wide-Area dienstverlening.
Volgens Analysys Mason heeft KPN een goed gearticuleerde Internet of Things strategie. Als voorbeeld noemt Analysys Mason de visie van KPN op het LoRa en LTE-M netwerk en de rol hiervan binnen KPN’s bredere IoT strategie. Ook de modulaire IoT aanpak van KPN (KPN Things) wordt als een sterkte gezien. Eerder dit jaar publiceerde Analysys Mason een rapport** waarin specifiek wordt ingegaan op de IoT strategie van KPN (KPN’s modular approach to IoT may inspire other telecoms operators’).

KPN acknowledged as a leader in Analysys Mason’s ‘IoT Scorecard 2018: Evaluating Operators’ LPWA Strategies’ research
KPN has been identified as a leader in the LPWA market in the new ‘IoT Scorecard 2018: Evaluating Operators’ LPWA Strategies’ report by Analysys Mason, a specialist TMT international research & advisory company.
In Analysys Mason’s ‘IoT Scorecard 2018: Evaluating Operators’ LPWA Strategies’ research*, 12 global providers of Low-Power Wide-Area (LPWA) services are evaluated based on strategy and execution. In the scorecard, a distinction is made between ‘Followers’, ‘Contenders’, ‘Challengers’ and ‘Pioneers’. KPN achieved high scores for all of the evaluation criteria (e.g. strategy & vision, networks, ecosystems, connectivity & go-to-market, value chain and vertical markets) and is acknowledged as a pioneer in the field of Low-Power Wide-Area services.
According to Analysys Mason, KPN has a well-articulated Internet of Things strategy. An example of this is KPN’s vision on LoRa and LTE-M and the role of these networks within KPN’s broader IoT strategy. Also, KPN’s modular IoT approach (KPN Things) was identified as a strength.
