Experia Box (modem) reset or reboot
Do you have a problem with tv, calling, internet or wifi? Solve it by rebooting or resetting the modem.
Always try rebooting your modem (Experia Box or KPN Box) first. Because all of your personal settings will disappear if you reset it.
1. Reboot your modem (Experia Box or KPN Box)
How do I reboot my modem?
Before you get started, read and remember these instructions, write them down or take a picture). Because your connection will drop for a moment when you’re rebooting your modem.
- Unplug your modem
- Wait 10 seconds
- Plug your modem back in
- Wait 10 minutes until your modem has rebooted completely
- Check if the Internet/Online light is green (constantly or blinking)
- You've rebooted your modem
If this didn't solve your problem, continue on to step 2.

2. Reset your modem (Experia Box or KPN Box)
Good to know: if you reset your modem, everything will revert to factory settings. And you’ll lose any and all personal changes you made. So you may need to reconnect devices that were connected to your modem. Like a smart thermostat.
Reset your modem manually
- Carefully press a paperclip or other pointy object in the ‘reset’ hole. Find it next to the power cable. Or in the side or back of the modem.
- Hold it until the ‘Power’ light goes red.
- Your KPN Experia Box or KPN Box is resetting. Leave it turned on for 30 minutes without interrupting it.
After resetting, the ‘Power’, ‘Services’ and ‘Internet’ light should be back on.

Frequently asked questions about resetting your modem
I have a V6 or V7 modem. What should I do?

After 12 January 2023, we stopped supporting the V6 and V7 modems. The modem will continue to work, but you won't get (security) updates. If you reset your modem to factory settings, you can no longer call and wifi won't work either.
