KPN acquires Xelion and helps entrepreneurs gain control over customer contact
Xelion will become part of KPN's business division aimed at SMEs. With the acquisition, KPN brings in a Dutch technology company that develops software for business communication. Xelion offers companies a single platform for calling, messaging, video calling, and customer contact. The acquisition fits KPN's strategy to help entrepreneurs work smarter and simplify customer contact.
Xelion was founded in 1988 and is based in Delft. The company supplies its software through a network of partners and is used by entrepreneurs in various European countries. From a single application, employees can make calls, chat, video calls, and communicate via WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, and CRM systems, among others.
For entrepreneurs, communication is becoming increasingly important and, at the same time, more complex. Customers expect companies to be reachable via various channels and to be able to switch quickly between calls, messages, and customer information. With Xelion, KPN is taking the next step to make that communication simpler for business customers.
Micha Cohen, founder of Xelion, says: "We made a conscious and careful choice for KPN. Xelion is in good hands at KPN and is given the space to remain the innovative company it has always been. The strategic value of our technology ensures continuity for customers, employees, and partners, while simultaneously offering opportunities to grow further."
According to KPN, Xelion aligns well with entrepreneurs' need for simple digital solutions. Earlier this year, KPN already introduced Mobile AI , enabling entrepreneurs to use AI in their daily communication via their mobile phones. In the long term, Xelion's technology offers new opportunities to further connect communication, customer contact, and AI support. At the same time, the partnership with KPN offers opportunities to grow further together by combining Xelion's innovative power with KPN's reach and distribution strength.
"Xelion has built a strong position with a platform that is easy to use while offering many possibilities. At least as important is the company's innovative strength. It is precisely that entrepreneurial culture and speed that we want to retain. By adding Xelion to KPN, we can better support entrepreneurs with accessibility, collaboration, and customer contact, wherever they work. At the same time, Xelion retains the room to innovate further," says Thomas Tolsma, responsible for SMEs at KPN.
Xelion will continue to operate from Delft as an independent part of KPN. Xelion customers will continue to receive the service they are familiar with and retain their existing points of contact.
