What was the customer's business challenge?
The Oskomera Group apply specialist technical knowledge to develop, engineer, manufacture and install façades and load-bearing constructions in aluminum and steel. Oskomera focuses on projects in Europe and the Netherlands Antilles. Additionally, in recent years they have specialized in projects geared to the generation of solar power in the business-to-business market, they are now entering the business-to-consumer market.
For the solar panel business the need for remote monitoring soon became apparent. The energy provided by the solar panels needs to be monitored because customers want to be informed about the amount of energy that has been generated. Oskomera requires remote monitoring of the solar panels to check that they are working correctly. Using wifi or cable internet access has proven to be impractical. Oskomera identified the need to provide a robust and secure solution for remote monitoring and extraction of data from the panels.
