What was the customer's business challenge?

IPT Telemedicine is a Dutch company that delivers telemedicine solutions and services to the all medical professionals. Traditionally they delivered online service products and solutions connected with a fixed line. Recently IPT Telemedicine developed Lokafoon, a service that enables patients to use the IPT Telemedicine also outside of their houses. Lokafoon is a product that combines GPS and geofencing in one device, enabling the patient to contact their doctors, helpdesk or relatives immediately if necessary.

In launching this new service IPT Telemedicine encountered a few challenges. As the device is voice & data enabled IPT was looking for a solution that provided a secure and risk free charging model. They didn’t know what the average usage of the device was and they didn't want to be surprised by the bill they'd receive.

How did the customer and KPN solve this challenge?

With these challenges IPT Telemedicine approached KPN. Together KPN and the customer developed a proposition that included voice, data & SMS in one bundle for one price. With this solution the customer had security in costs and flexibility in the solution. This enabled the customer to come up with a business model that suited their needs and that accelerated the introduction of this solution.

Why did the customer choose KPN's solution?

IPT Telemedicine was looking for a partner that could work with them on this new business model for them. KPN was able to deliver a solution that was wrapped around their business model taking away part of the risk of launching their solution.

Apart from that KPN and the customers together developed the voice solution the customer was asking for. This provided IPT Telemedicine with a solution that was tailored made to their needs.
