Customer Case Greenchem
What was the customer's business challenge?
Greenchem is an innovative producer of AdBlue, a fuel additive that helps to reduce harmful emissions from trucks. Truck drivers can fill their tanks with AdBlue which is available at petrol stations across Europe.
Greenchem already connected the AdBlue liquid bulk containers at the petrol stations with an M2M service, but because this service was not managed, Greenchem encountered issues with the manageability and cost control of their solution; the Total Cost of Ownership of the service became unpredictable.
Based on their current experience and their focus on reducing the TCO and getting a better grip on the distribution of AdBlue, Greenchem approached KPN to help them in delivering a sustainable, manageable solution that could be deployed to all the fuel stations selling the AdBlue product, regardless of the country or the specific location.
How did the customer and KPN solve this challenge?
One of the key requirements for Greenchem was a solution that enabled fraud prevention and therefore led to predictable costs. Additionally Greenchem wanted a single provider to cover a multitude of countries.
KPN was able to meet all the requirements of Greenchem. The KPN solution provides full visibility and control of the usage of all the M2M connections regardless of country or location. By using KPN’s Control Centre Greenchem has regained the control of all the bulk containers distributed across Europe. Greenchem is in charge when it comes to SIM card deployment, activation and deactivation. They can track usage and detect fraud before it gets out of hand. The TCO of the solution is now back under control.
