Achmea order is biggest deal for Corporate Market
In early December Achmea, KPN, Atos and GetronicsPinkRoccade sign an agreement that represents the biggest deal of the year for KPN Corporate Market. The contract is worth 137 million euro.
One of the provisions of that contract is that as from January 1, 2008 KPN will be responsible for supplying all the services in the field of fixed and mobile communication and data networks. Security and call centers also fall under the five-year contract.
Impressive
It took over three years to lay the groundwork for the contract and a further year to close the deal itself. This is because it covers an impressive array of activities: from the effective date of the contract KPN supplies, installs and manages all the hardware and guarantees 100% winback from Versatel's WAN and VT domains. This involves no fewer than 23,000 managed voice and call center ports and 27,000 managed LAN ports.
Another aspect of the deal is that 35 Achmea employees will transfer to KPN. With their help, the current Achmea environment will be taken over in the first half of 2008, after which migration to new services will commence. It will take roughly three years before all Achmea offices are fully transferred to these services. In addition, the Achmea partnership offers numerous opportunities for innovative expansion.
