The KPN strategy
KPN has a threefold strategy:

Attack the market for new communications services to establish leading positions that will deliver attractive revenue streams from national and international services. The entire network is being migrated to Internet Protocol (IP) to enable us to deliver these new services.
Defend the traditional services to maintain, and where possible increase, our leading share in declining markets. Operate in both the retail and wholesale space.
Exploit our leadership of the markets for traditional and new services in order to achieve a better cost structure than our competitors, thereby securing a sustainable competitive advantage.
