“It is great to see that our ‘Back to Growth’ strategy announced in February of this year is beginning to bear fruit and has contributed to strong second quarter results. Our domestic performance has been ahead of our expectations, not only succeeding in achieving substantial growth in new services such as VoIP, TV and mobile data, but also in retaining more and more customers in traditional services through attractive product offerings. Accordingly, the 2008 EBITDA outlook for the Netherlands has been upgraded from an expected decrease to ‘flat’. Meanwhile, our Mobile International business is demonstrating that its competitive advantages are sustainable through the passage of time, adding another quarter of beating competition with E-Plus gaining a record 780,000 customers and BASE’s service revenues returning to growth. These first half year results show that KPN is well on track with regard to the ‘Back to Growth’ strategy 2010.”
