What is KPN’s policy on sponsorship?
KPN makes a distinction between commercial and social sponsorship. We are currently reviewing our policy on commercial sponsorship. The central theme of our social sponsorship is using telecommunications to bridge gaps in healthcare and education. Our focus is on young people and elderly people. So we have supported activities appropriate to these target groups, like the Ronald McDonald Children's Fund and the offer of free Internet access and services to all schools in the Netherlands. Through this free Internet offering, KPN is stimulating the knowledge economy. It allows youngsters to become familiar early on with broadband Internet and the applications and services it makes possible.
