InternetPlusBellen - internetten en telefoneren zonder apart telefoonabonnement - is in korte tijd zo populair geworden dat KPN momenteel 20.000 aanvragen per week te verwerken krijgt.

InternetPlusBellen – internet and telephone in one package, without a separate telephone subscription – has become immensely popular in the short time since its introduction. At the moment, KPN is receiving as many as 20,000 orders a week.

KPN en T-Mobile zijn overeengekomen dat per 1 september 2007 een deel van de GSM-frequenties van Telfort aan T-Mobile Netherlands wordt overgedragen. Het betreft een bandbreedte van 5MHz in de 900 MHz band. De prijs wordt niet bekend gemaakt.

KPN and T-Mobile have reached agreement on the transfer of part of Telfort’s GSM-spectrum to T-Mobile Netherlands as per September 1, 2007. This involves 5MHz of spectrum in the 900MHz band. Financial details will not be disclosed.

Libor Voncina (43) has today been appointed as the new CEO of KPN’s Belgian mobile unit BASE. Voncina joins BASE from Telekom Slovenija and will be responsible for the day-to-day business of BASE in Belgium and the continued implementation of the BASE challenger strategy on the Belgian market.

Libor Voncina (43) is met ingang van vandaag benoemd tot nieuwe CEO van KPN’s Belgische mobiele dochter BASE. Voncina, voorheen werkzaam bij Telekom Slovenija, wordt verantwoordelijk voor het dagelijks bestuur van BASE in België en voor de verdere implementatie van de BASE challenger strategie in de Belgische markt.

KPN has successfully concluded a tender offer for its outstanding EUR 1.5 billion 4.75% Notes due November 2008, with an aggregate amount of EUR 732 million. In addition, KPN has priced a new EUR 1 billion Eurobond with a 10 year maturity and a coupon of 4.75%.

Om het aflossingsprofiel te verlengen lanceert KPN vandaag de uitnodiging tot terugkoop van de EUR 1,5 miljard uitstaande obligatielening, met een coupon van 4,75% en een looptijd tot november 2008, tot een maximaal bedrag van EUR 750 miljoen.

Toelichting van Ad Scheepbouwer, CEO van KPN: "We zijn blij met deze goede prestaties en met de voortgang die we hebben geboekt om de ontwikkeling van de groep veilig te stellen en verder te stimuleren. In order to lengthen its debt maturity profile, KPN today launches a tender offer for its outstanding EUR 1.5 billion 4.75% Notes due November 2008 for an amount up to EUR 750 million. The tender offer will be financed by a new benchmark Eurobond to be issued under its Global Medium Term Note Programme.

The State of the Netherlands has announced the sale of its remaining 167 million ordinary shares in KPN. KPN announces that it has entered into an agreement to repurchase 80 million ordinary shares from the State for a total consideration of approximately EUR 800 million.

KPN is accelerating the rollout of the HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) mobile broadband technology upgrade for its 3G UMTS network. KPN expects to have implemented HSDPA across the whole of its UMTS coverage area as of the end of this year.
