Responsible energy use

KPN values a clean environment and sustainability. We aim to reduce our energy consumption and that of our customers and we want the energy we do use to be generated from sustainable resources. KPN aims to be climate-neutral by 2020. This means that on balance we will cease to emit any CO2. In the Netherlands and Belgium we have been using 100% green energy since January 2011. We implement energy-saving measures in our networks, data centers, offices, stores and vehicle fleet. We also have a sustainable procurement policy and only do business with suppliers who subscribe to our supplier's code of conduct. In 2010 we were rewarded for our efforts with a listing in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. That listing ranks us amongst the top 10 per cent of the most sustainable telecom companies in the world.
