KPN sponsor partner of Amsterdam's Rijksakademie
KPN is sponsor partner of Amsterdam's Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, a fine arts college. KPN and the Rijksakademie share an ambition which is formulated in the Rijksakademie's mission: 'developing talent at the highest level'. This collaborative effort allows KPN to support talented young artists in the Netherlands. KPN refreshes its in-house art collection with works by young Dutch artists.
The Prix de Rome is the oldest government award for talented young artists in the Netherlands. It is one of the most generous awards, consisting of a sizeable money prize and a three to four month internship at the Rijksakademie.
In cooperation with the Rijksakademie, KPN introduced its own, unique artistic award: the KPN Kunstprix. The winner of the award receives a money prize and the guarantee that KPN will buy one existing or new piece.
Another part of the collaboration is the annual sponsorship of a fellowship, allowing KPN to form a direct connection with a promising artist.
