KPN has reached agreement to sell its Infrastructure Services & Projects BV (“IS&P”) business to SPIE Nederland (“SPIE”) for an undisclosed consideration. IS&P is reported under KPN’s Business segment and generated revenues in 2012 of more than EUR 100 million with over 600 FTEs.
IS&P focusses on the installation, management and maintenance of cabling infrastructures for data and voice connectivity and on-premise datacenters. Within SPIE, IS&P will form the basis of the new division SPIE Integrated Connectivity Solutions (“SPIE-ICS”). IS&P can further develop its activities as SPIE-ICS and continue to provide high quality services to KPN customers.
The sale of IS&P fits within KPN’s strategy to divest non-core assets and to work with a selected number of preferred partners. SPIE-ICS retains its status as a preferred partner within KPN for at least 3 years. KPN will include SPIE-ICS in its total package offers, in terms of (digital) workplace connectivity, to its business customers.
The intended transaction is subject to approval by the Dutch competition authority (NMa) and KPN’s Works Council consultation will take place as usual.
