i-mode to your heart's content for fixed monthly fee

Den Haag, 2-5-05

And, what's more, i-mode e-mail will be totally free for all i-mode subscribers up to 1 November 2005. E-mail of course allows users to do more than just exchange text messages. Customers can include links to interesting sites, send pictures including their own snapshots or attach video clips, for example.

The latest option ‘i-mode 7.50’ is available for customers with Hi or KPN Flexibel subscriptions. There is a fair use policy of 10MB a month to prevent individual excessive use. Data traffic over and above the 10MB limit can be charged for, but 10MB is more than enough for even the most fanatic i-mode users. For instance, this enables them to view about 1,500 i-mode pages, download 400 games or 800 ring tones or download 120 high quality videos a month.

PrePay customers will also pay less for i-mode in future. From now on they will pay EUR 10 per Megabyte for data traffic, which equals 1 eurocent per kB. A PrePay MB used to cost EUR 17.50. All i-mode sites clearly show the size of a particular download in advance, such as a game or a ring tone. The 1 cent per kB price makes it much easier for PrePay customers to anticipate and manage their costs.

KPN offers all i-mode customers various options for keeping an eye on their own use, and therefore on costs. Customers can install a 'usage alert', for example. Customers set their own limit for data traffic or costs, and receive an e-mail warning when they reach it.

In the meantime, customers can choose from over 250 services specially tailored for i-mode. With more than 10,000 ring tones, 10,000 wallpapers, 200 video ring tones, 150 games and 500 video clips, i-mode has something for everyone. And it doesn't stop at pleasure and entertainment; i-mode offers many useful and informative services for people on the move: mobile banking, paying for parking tickets, information on public transport, the latest news, sport (including video goal alerts) and much more. Besides official sites, there are tens of thousands of other sites on offer from individuals or companies.
