KPN starts European mobile service provider

Den Haag, 9-3-05

KPN is launching a new activity: a European mobile service provider under the name SYMPAC.

The aim is to offer multinational customers one port of call for mobile telephony in European countries. By agreeing one European contract with SYMPAC, customers will be able to make considerable cost savings. And a contract only has to be negotiated with one party.

At the moment multinational companies mostly work with mobile service contracts with individual local operators. And this usually means different service conditions and fees with each operator and a separate contact person in each country.

SYMPAC offers one uniform invoice, one point of contact, one contract, and one uniform service level for all European locations belonging to multinational clients with head offices in the Netherlands, Germany, or Belgium. SYMPAC negotiates the contracts with other parties and takes care of the contract management.

Brian Stout, managing director of SYMPAC: “Multinational corporate customers have the same requirements as smaller companies: clarity, predictability, simplicity and control on costs. We are increasingly being asked to provide the services we already offer in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium in other countries. SYMPAC enables KPN to provide effective and advantageous services throughout Europe.”
