KPN has further extended its network solutions portfolio with the EuroRings International Ethernet VPN Service. This new solution offers easy to use services for corporate customers wanting to connect multiple locations through Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) based on Ethernet technology. Further expanding the scope of KPN’s successful national and international Ethernet offerings, the new service now provides end-to-end Ethernet connections also abroad, including local access. With access speeds of up to 1 Gbps, customers can enjoy seamless service coverage throughout Europe.
The International Ethernet VPN Service facilitates high-speed Ethernet connectivity between two or more locations, whether they are in the same country or spread across Europe. Based on the familiar Ethernet technology used for local area networks (LAN), it enables point-to-point and any-to-any connectivity. Customers benefit from more flexibility when setting up an international network, including scalable bandwidth access, multiple service classes and integration into a single platform.
In addition the new EuroRings International Ethernet VPN Service allows organizations to conclude one contract for all their Ethernet services. Benefits include a single point of contact for a fully integrated national & international solution, one international service desk, one delivery platform and one invoice that can be provided in various currencies. The service can be used for all office and business applications, including databases, CRM, voice applications, video conferencing and converged services.
Coverage across 22 countries
The EuroRings International Ethernet VPN Service is based on efficient and future-proof technology. It is currently available in the five core countries of the international KPN network - The Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, France and Germany - and offers extended coverage via Ethernet over SDH technology across KPN’s high capacity fibre-optic network in 22 European countries.
John van Vianen, Senior Vice President Network Services at KPN, explains: “KPN is experiencing a rapidly growing demand for Ethernet services in Europe. We see the market potential for our easily-scalable, secure and highly cost-effective international network service. Therefore we have further tailored our EuroRings portfolio of international data services to the needs of our corporate customers. This is an additional step in KPN’s All-IP strategy”.
