Jürgen Graf to head Sympac’s push in Germany

Den Haag, 12-6-08

Former T-Systems Business Service board member says Sympac’s managed services provide much-needed answer for multinationals that want to gain control over their mobile communication spending.

The Hague, 10 June 2008 - Sympac, Europe’s first “one contact, one contract” international mobile service provider, has appointed Dr Jürgen Graf as Managing Director Sympac Germany.

Dr Graf, 43, has over 12 years’ experience in international telecommunications and IT, making him a powerful addition to the rapidly growing Sympac team and the ideal person to spearhead the company’s drive into the German market.

Dr Graf joins Sympac from T-Systems, the business services arm of Deutsche Telekom, where he was member of the management board of T-Systems Business Service and responsible for partnerships and alliances. Previously, he headed up T-Systems’ International Carrier Sales and Solutions division. Prior to joining T-Systems, in 2003, Dr Graf spent five years at MCI, specialising in business development, network optimisation and international access solutions. His first telecommunications job was with Mannesmann Eurokom. Dr. Graf holds a Law degree from the University of Cologne, Germany, a PhD from the University of Münster, Germany, and a degree in advertising.

“I have increasingly thought that the large mobile communications operators could do more for business customers,” Dr Graf said of his move to Sympac. “In my opinion, they are still too focused on how many SIM cards they sell in a particular country, rather than thinking about other aspects of business customers’ needs. This is understandable because analysts value them on the number of SIM cards they sell, but it is not necessarily the best for customers.

“I see big opportunities for a mobile operator that offers advanced management services to its business customers and it was this that attracted me to Sympac. It is exciting to join a company that offers these not just within one country’s borders, but Europe-wide.

“Sympac is a very powerful proposition. Most companies do not know how much they use – and spend on – mobile communications. There is no transparency. Sympac enables them to see and analyse their mobile usage and then optimise their spending in all kinds of way. These include total costs, allocation according to cost centre, opting in or out of specific services…. Sympac’s Management Services tool lets them do this. Moreover, its business model of contracting with local suppliers on a per-client basis means it doesn’t have the conflicts of interest other operators face.

“Germany is a huge market and Sympac has a lot to offer German business. Everyone I talk to is interested in the Sympac concept but until now we have been rather conservative in our communications. I am looking forward to changing this and so helping multinational companies in Germany enhance their competitive edge through the Sympac benefits of one contact, one contract and advanced management tools for their mobile communications.”

About Sympac

Sympac has been rewriting the telecom rules since 2005, when it began providing customised solutions for European mobile communications.

Working via its own network and through partner mobile network operators, Sympac is the only multinational service provider that delivers the same services and pricing structure across every major European country. Organisations employing 500 people or more can create their own mix of mobile voice, mobile internet and mobile data communication solutions, including hardware support and helpdesk services, so providing opportunities for multinational companies to significantly reduce their total cost of ownership.

Sympac is also the first European service provider to offer one contract, one contact and one bill. This gives companies an immediate view of their total spend – and the opportunity to reduce the total cost of their mobile communications. More information at: www.sympac.com
