E-Plus to introduce new mobile brand in Germany

Den Haag, 27-9-06

KPN subsidiary E-Plus is introducing a new brand in the German mobile market. Targeted at the young and young at heart, the new brand Vybemobile is the first ‘Phone and Music’ brand in Germany, combining easy to understand, low mobile tariffs with attractive music-related services. E-Plus has partnered with music industry leader Universal Music Germany for Vybemobile. Customers will be able to enjoy a range of music content from its roster of world-famous artists.

With the launch of Vybemobile, E-Plus is broadening its multi-brand portfolio to address a further segment of the German market with tailored, relevant and great value services. An integral part of its challenger strategy, by the end of June 2006, E-Plus had attracted nearly 3 million customers to its new own or partner brands such as Simyo, BASE and Medion Mobile (Aldi Talk).

Vybemobile offers customers the choice of both post- and prepaid pay plans. The highlight of the post-paid tariff is a flat-fee component within the Vybemobile customer community. All calls to other Vybemobile users are included in the EUR 20 monthly fee. Given that younger people are among the heaviest users of text messaging, both post- and prepaid plans also offer an extremely attractive SMS-tariff of just EUR 0.09.

Vybemobile’s music offering includes ringtones, exclusive pre-listens for new tracks and the latest news and views via the Vybemobile WAP-portal. Customers will also be able to enjoy Meet & Greets with Universal Music’s stars, as well as attend exclusive concerts for the Vybemobile community. Universal Music Germany and E-Plus furthermore plan to introduce a full-track download service early in 2007. Customers will be able to choose from several hundred thousand numbers to download straight to their mobile.
