Royal KPN announces that, from the 15 May 2006, it has appointed Scott McKenzie as Chief Strategy Officer for its International Mobile division. Mr McKenzie (40 years old) will report to Stan Miller, the CEO of KPN’s International Mobile activities and a member (from 1 June 2006) of the management board of Royal KPN. Mr McKenzie is a British national.


Prior to joining Royal KPN, Mr McKenzie spent six years working as a senior telecom equity analyst in the City of London, most recently with SG Securities. Before this he spent several years in the telecom practice of Arthur D. Little in London and has an industry background having worked for Ericsson and Telstra. He holds a bachelors degree in Engineering from Melbourne University and an MBA from Oxford University.


Commenting on his appointment, Mr McKenzie stated: “I am very excited to be joining KPN and working with Stan Miller and the international team to take the company’s mobile challenger businesses to the next level”. Mr Miller commented: “With the mobile industry maturing and our competitors not standing still, we need to be constantly thinking about how we can maintain competitive advantage. I therefore welcome Scott on board to address this important challenge. This appointment further strengthens the mobile international management team and we expect to make further announcements in due course.”
